Danisch Bhatti, 22-year-old, Biological Science student at the University of Calgary.
Bhatti chose biological sciences as a degree because of the enthusiasm he felt during his high school years towards biology, absorbing into a passion.
Still, biological sciences was not what he expected it to be in.
With his passion for biology, it struck an interest in medicine.
“Everything in my life reinforces a passion for medicine,” said Bhatti.
Bhatti’s father had a heart attack and passed away on Oct. 23rd, 2012, and Bahtti didn’t morn too much for him. “Because things like this just happen, and you have to move on,” said Bhatti.
Bhatti has faced loss, but that has never stopped his life; he has had the courage to face it all with a smile and move on.
The tragedy for his father’s death encouraged him to want to go into medicine rather than just his passion for the field.
“My whole persona is questioning everything [in his life],” said Bhatti.
“Religion helps explain a lot of things and helps understand the why behind life because where there is a prayer, there is a plan,” said Bhatti.
“I like laughing, and I can’t take shit seriously,” said Bhatti.
He takes life very quickly and doesn’t get upset when life throws a curveball at him and loves to make a joke —at the moment.
Bhatti is very close to his older brother. He sees him as his role model. He’s his rock and support system. He talks about him in a way that he could be a celebrity. That’s how much love and respect he has for him.
Bhatti enjoys spending his leisure time zoning in comedic or action films and working out so he can de-stress from school and have some time to himself.
Bhatti likes to have deep philosophical conversations while finding new places to eat with his good friend Munib Ali.
Bhatti is a big foodie.
Trying new food is always a great win, and with the adds of new flavours to his palette, Bhatti can’t get over his love for the sweetness of sour candies, and the mix of Asian Cuisine. Not to mention him trying citric acid strips for fun.
Bhatti enjoys; black coffee, fruity teas and sushi.
“Danisch is not only a great friend and an accomplished individual but also someone motivated to take command of his future,” said Munib Ali.
